​Launch of the Cancer Prevention Europe (CPE) Learning Centre at the Cancer Prevention Europe 2021 Symposium.
Elements of the CPE Learning Centre, such as the first multilingual online learning programme on primary and secondary prevention of cancer, are hosted on the IARC Learning portal.

The 18th call for Helmholtz Young Investigator Groups has been published and applications are possible at DKFZ via the online job portal. On September 3, the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) hosted the “High Level Conference on improving cancer care in Europe” dkfz.de/en/events/EU2020-Event.

The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is organizing virtually the 2nd International DKFZ Conference on Cancer Prevention “Facing the Challenges of Cancer Prevention and Early Detection” on 17-18 September 2020 (Europe/Berlin timezone).

Dr Carolina Espina, from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC/WHO) and scientific secretariat of Cancer Prevention Europe, presented “European code against cancer regarding tobacco and secondhand smoke” and “European code against cancer” at the 8th European Conference on Tobacco or Health (ECToH) jointly organized with the 34th German Cancer Congress, on the 19-22 February 2020 in Berlin (Germany).

On February 18, 2020 Dr Joachim Schüz, from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC/WHO) and chair of Cancer Prevention Europe, presented “Modifiable risk factors and prevention: overview of current knowledge and main challenges” to the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety at the European Parliament.
